TeamSTEPPS Training Opportunities
AHRQ is providing virtual TeamSTEPPS trainings led by experienced facilitators at no charge to participants through November 2024. Two in-person training opportunities will be announced at a later date. These trainings are designed to help teams enhance communication, manage challenges more collaboratively, and effectively implement TeamSTEPPS to improve patient care.
AHRQ is offering trainings for TeamSTEPPS for Diagnosis Improvement and TeamSTEPPS 3.0. Participants can earn continuing education units (CEUs) for a fee.
TeamSTEPPS for Diagnosis Improvement Course
This TeamSTEPPS training raises diagnostic safety awareness, introduces the concept of a broad multidisciplinary diagnostic team that includes nonclinicians and patients and their families, and provides assessment and training tools to support local efforts to reduce diagnostic harm. TeamSTEPPS 3.0 Course
This TeamSTEPPS training is designed to strengthen teamwork and communication skills and help teams identify and address patient safety risks more effectively. Each of the four modules in the curriculum focuses on one essential component of the TeamSTEPPS framework—communication, leadership, situation monitoring, and mutual support. TeamSTEPPS 3.0 Condensed | Half day/ 4 hours | Individuals or teams, participants who are already familiar with TeamSTEPPS, students, educators, caregivers, and patients and their families. Participants must be in the United States or U.S. territories. | This shorter offering details the TeamSTEPPS 3.0 key tools and strategies. At the end of the course, learners will be directed to implementation resources on the AHRQ website. 4 CEU credits offered for a fee. |
TeamSTEPPS 3.0 Mini-Session | 2 hours | Individuals or teams, participants who are already familiar with TeamSTEPPS, students, educators, caregivers, and patients and their families. Participants must be in the United States or U.S. territories. | This session provides an overview of the TeamSTEPPS 3.0 curriculum and the resources available for those who are interested in learning more before proposing a TeamSTEPPS intervention at their organization. For those implementing TeamSTEPPS, this session could serve as a refresher on the curriculum or an opportunity to find an additional tool or strategy to add to your toolkit. CEU credits not offered. |
